Here and There

This is a message from Tiffany's mother, Shelly. We spoke today and she asked that I give everyone an update.

She has traveled with Caterina and Maria, her Italian friends, to Puglia where she is staying in a villa near the beach. The house is lovely, the beach wonderful, and life is good. But she is without internet access. They have rented a car to drive into town to shop, but there are no internet cafes there, either.

First, important messages:

To Andi DiMaria in Denmark: Tif needs you to call her and give her your telephone number. You can reach Tif on her Italian cell phone at 39-334-967-8259. (Anyone else who wants to call can do so if you can afford it. All incoming calls on cell phones in Italy are free to the receiving party.....)

To Jean Claude in France: Tif received your message and plans to meet you in Paris on August 28 as you suggested. She will be in touch as soon as she can get to a computer.

To the Emmanuel Family: Tif got your message and has learned that she will miss seeing you. You return home to Le Mans on August 31, the same day she departs Venice to return to the USA. She is sad to have come so close and not seen you.

To All the Friends Who Have Emailed: Tif can't read your messages now, but she will when she is able.


Back to the travels...

Tif and company spend their days on the beautiful beaches of southern Italy. This is the season of local festivals, and there are bonfires and food and dancing on the beaches at night. The foods are lcoal favorites and the dance is traditional. But tonight they salsa! The girls are meeting others for a night of salsa dancing at a local club. As Tiffany says, "Yippee!"

The girls will attend the wedding of Caterina's friend on August 14 and the bachelorette party the night before. That should be a story in itself. August 14 is some sort of national holiday (forgive my ignorance) that is celebrated as we in the US celebrate New Years. Fireworks, parties, dancing, the works...all on the wedding day. Good planning.

After the 14th, Tif will travel north with Caterina for a short time in Italy and then go on to Denmark to see Andi. Then she will return to France to see Jean Claude and others there. Much to her mother's chagrin, she plans to stay a while in France, traveling on her own, seeing and doing whatever strikes her. She knows she must call everyday or I will call Interpol....again. But that is another story.
